My Thesis

Project Statement

My thesis project consists of rebranding an existing small real estate firm near my area and creating my own personalized real estate website.
including a variety of pages that will include contact information,  home purchasing/selling information, potential listings with prices with advanced details.

Inspiration

Having a place to call home is on everyone’s bucket list. Having that place will provide shelter, safety, and stability for anyone and their families. Many people look to buy a home to spend most of their lives in or to sell the home to someone else later who may want to purchase it.

The Process

Step 1. Rebrand existing real estate firm's logo.

Step 2. Create business cards for the rebranded real estate firm.

Step 3. Plan out the layout for the website.

Step 4. Construct website structure (add pages, rebranded logo, more)

Step 5. Add Photography

(Take photos of homes/rooms & edit them with adobe lightroom)

Step 6. Add content to pages via Properties page, Agents, Selling Information, Contact Information.

Step 7. Finalize content, publish and make website accessible.

Step 8. Create a real estate brochure for the rebranded firm.

(A tri-fold or single open-gate fold)

Step 9. Revise my thesis and make necessary changes to finish.

Thesis Conclusion

My experience with this thesis project.

This project was one of my biggest challenges I have ever had being a student at Farleigh Dickinson University. From doing the research and planning out exactly how I wanted to rebrand, yet recreate an entire real-estate website. The feedback from my students and my thesis professor really helped push me forward to achieve what I would want to see out of a real-estate website and make it look like the "real deal." From rebranding the logo to the business cards, to even the brochure it has taken steps in order to fully be a part of one successful project.

RESUME

Hello, my name is Alvaro Young and I am graduating senior at Farleigh Dickinson University with a B.A in Graphic Design with a web design concentration. I have been in the field of graphic design since 2007 and ever since then, I have been learning new techniques and ways to prepare myself for the real world of business. Besides being a graphic designer specialized in creating functional websites or other forms of artwork, I am also a photographer, video editor, 3D animator and I enjoy combining all my experiences to create unique forms of art such as this rebranded website for an existing real-estate firm.

This project was also inspired by someone in my family that aided in my adventure in graphic design who works in web design. My uncle who lives up in Ontario, Canada works for a real estate company and constantly updates their website. He gave me a demonstration one day and it encouraged me to take on this idea for my thesis.

The real-estate industry has always been interesting for me.

Learning about properties, what people look for, auctioning, reasonable prices that people look to find have increased my knowledge in understanding what it's like to be a realtor. The challenges an associate makes to make a sale to a family can be extremely intense especially with the questions customers usually have indirect house information.
